Angela Ehrmann (Resco) is a native Wichitan who has been producing original artwork for over ten years. She started doing black and white photography in high school at the young age of fifteen. Throughout high school and college, she worked for several photography studios and also maintained a steady freelance workflow. She attended Johnson County Community College and Wichita State University for Marketing and Graphic Design. While attending college, she took several courses in Photography, both commercial and fine art. After two years of college, Angela successfully opened a small digital photography studio focusing on people and pets. She was the sole employee completing 100% of each order, and averaged around twenty-five orders per day. Angela then went on to start a career in Graphic Design. She has worked for several companies, both large and small, doing design for advertising, point of sale, direct marketing and printing. She continues her freelance business, A. E. Photo-Graphics, and plans to finish her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
Angela’s design work can be seen in national and local advertising campaigns, while her photography can be seen published in The International Library of Photography’s ‘America At the Millennium; Best Photos of the 20th Century’. Being a proficient artist in several media, Angela’s passion is for black and white photography.
"I don’t always have a reason for what I am creating, I just see it and know. For me, it’s that easy."
Angela has recently been involved in the local Final Friday Gallery Walk. She has exhibited both paintings and photographs. She is currently creating several new pieces and plans to exhibit continually within the next year.
Artist Statement:
"Photographs allow us to see through the eyes of others, which in turn, allows us to open our own eyes."
I believe there is no right or wrong to art, it is what it is. Each artist will see things in a different way and that is what makes art unique and original. It’s important not to loose track of that.
